The increased use of Big Data and AI within the sport industry is being driven by the predicant set of continual improvement of both athlete and equipment. Increasingly, it is becoming incredibly important and necessary to get live and comprehensive data about athletes to improve performance.  Adding technology to sports equipment or onto athletes adds complexity, weight and in some cases inefficiencies.

Rasei’s technology can allow for the efficient collection and transmission of electrical signals and therefore data without the traditional additional weight gains. Adding just a small amount of graphene into a carbon fibre structure can result in the smooth transmission of electrical signals across a frame, body panel or device resulting in data collection allowing for live changes and feedback to be received.

The addition of graphene into a carbon fibre layup also results in an increase of material strength, especially in relation to weight. There are multiple potential applications for a conductive graphene composites within the sport industry that come with a variety of different applications depending on their implementation.
